Hello! My name is Dr. Chughtai, I am the owner and Veterinarian at American Veterinary Hospital. I have been practicing since 1981, completing my Masters in Soft Tissue Surgery in 1987. In 1992 I started practicing in Franklin, WI where I won America’s Top Veterinarian Award in 2006 which is proudly displayed in the reception area at the hospital. You also may see my two rescue cats around the clinic Carlos and Sanchez. I look forward to getting to know all of my clients, and their pets! It is one of my favorite things about Veterinary Medicine, meeting my clients and getting to know their pets. I am now welcoming new patients to my practice big or small!
Owner and Veterinarian
Practice Manager, C.V.T
I have been working for Dr. Chughtai since 1998. I am the clinics Certified Veterinary Technician, and have been certified since joining the team at American Veterinary Hospital. I really enjoy getting to know new clients, and getting updated information our existing clients. I consider it a privilege to be able to work with you and your pets from their very first exam into their senior years.
I joined the amazing team here at American Veterinary Hospital in September 2018. Veterinary medicine has always been my passion! I started my career in the veterinary field in 2001 and can’t think of anything I’d rather do! While I enjoy assisting in surgery, seeing our patients and clients is the highlight of my day! My background in marketing has given me to opportunity to also become AVH’s new Media Coordinator, allowing me to connect with our clients on a whole new level. When I’m not at work I’m busy being a mother to our 4 amazing children. I am a totally sports mom and also run a small crafting business (related to pets of course!) in my spare time! We currently own 2 Staffordshire Terriers, a Miniature Pinscher a kitty named Tweak. I look forward to developing relationships with each of patients as well as their humans!
I’ve been working at American Veterinary Hospital since 2005. I have two rescue dogs Molly & Farrah. I really enjoy assisting with surgeries and working with critical care patients. I also have prior experience working with wildlife and large exotics. I enjoy working with pet owner on providing preventative care to ensure the happiest and healthiest life for your pets.
I have been working at American Veterinary Hospital since march 2017. I love working with animals and children: prior to working here I worked in child care for over 12 years. After having my second child I decided that it was time to make a career change and chase my dream of working with animals. I went back to school at Animal Behavior Collage and graduated in June of 2016 as a certified veterinary assistant. I also volunteer at Lakeland Animal Shelter in my free time. I have 3 children, 2 dogs named Athena and Thor, and have 3 barn cats named Batman, Belle, and Jasmine. I love assisting in surgeries, patient recovery, and helping clients learn to care for their pets.
I have been part of the staff at American Veterinary Hospital since September of 2019. Working with pets has always been a job I love coming too! Prior to AVH, I worked in the veterinary field for 3 years as well as did pet grooming for 8! Working in both professions has certainly given me a much deserved respect for our furry friends and clients alike. While I feel all health care is important I take a special interest in nutrition and Integrative Pet Care. Growing up our pet of choice was Siberian Huskies and other sled type dogs, however today my main sidekick is a cute calico named Sundae. In my spare time, I enjoy gaming and causally competing in video game tournaments. I’m excited to be a part of this amazing team and look forward to getting to know our patients and clients.
Sanchez & Carlos
This is Sanchez and Carlos, when Dr. Chughtai rescued them in 2009 they were very sick, and were going to be euthanized. Dr. Chughtai stepped in and rescued them. Since being rescued from MADACC in 2009 they have been so spoiled! And they love their home here at American Veterinary Hospital, where there are no limits and they are welcome to roam free! Sanchez our black cat was diagnosed with Osteonecrosis in 2011 and unfortunately had to have his back right leg amputated. Luckily Dr. Chughtai caught it soon enough and only had to amputate one of his legs. But don’t let that fool you he gets along very well at the clinic and loves all the extra attention that he gets because of it! Carlos, our orange kitty we adopted also known as our greeter loves greeting all sorts of pets coming through our doors, and is very social with our clients. Somehow he knows when they need something to get their mind off of a vet visit because he jumps right into their lap and screams for attention. He’s truly our little therapist!
