We understand leaving your pet to board is nerve racking! Not only for yourself but your pet as well. At American Veterinary Hospital we make your pet as comfortable as possible, giving you the peace of mind that they are in good hands. We currently offer boarding for both our canine companions and feline friends!
Each canine companion is assigned his/her own spacious indoor boarding kennel to call home while they are here. Kennels are heated/air conditioned and are available in small, medium, and large sizes, varying up to 5ft deep X 4ft wide. Separated by a solid wall to provide privacy for the dogs, the kennel also features an open view door.
Upon reservation our staff will determine what kennel your dog will be assigned to for their stay depending on the room that is appropriate for their size and temperament.
During your pet’s stay we try to keep their routine as normal as possible. At admission we will ask that you fill out our Boarding Agreement Form as well as our Boarding Drop-off form. This form documents specific feeding instructions, medication directions, restrictions, etc. Bedding and bowls are provided to all of our boarders.
During potty and playtime, our outdoor kennel area provides plenty of room for your pet to release some energy and run freely. All areas are gated with both pavement and grass options available to your pet.
While dogs do not get to interact with one another (for safety reasons) common areas are shared throughout the kennel and play yard. For this reason we require all boarders to be in good health and up to date on our required vaccinations and fecal testing.
Required Vaccinations & Testing include;
Rabies
Distemper (DAPP)
Leptospirosis (Lepto)
Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
Fecal Testing – Must be negative within 1 month.
If your pet is not up to date on these vaccinations or need fecal testing done, we will be able to do the necessary vaccinations at the time of drop-off.
These requirements help ensure the health and safety for all of our boarders.
