Dr. Dhillon

Veterinarian

Welcome to American Veterinary Hospital! My name is Dr. Dhillon, and I have been practicing veterinary medicine for over 25 years. Throughout my time practicing veterinary medicine, I have expanded my knowledge into all aspects of pet health care as well as specialty surgeries. While veterinary medicine is ever-changing, I am dedicated to my profession and constantly improving my skills through continuing education. This allows me to give my clients the best possible treatment options available to date. It is important to be transparent with our clients and involve them in the decision-making process regarding their pet’s care. I believe communication is a key component in making the best decisions for your pet.

I am also an active member in several veterinary associations, including The Milwaukee Veterinary Medical Association, The Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. These associations hold the Standard of Care just as high as I do.

In my spare time away from work, I enjoy running in marathons and spending time with my wife. Together we have four beautiful children, a dog named Kavi and a cat named Berlioz!

I look forward to making connections with each of you and providing your pets with the best care possible for years to come.

Carrie

Practice Manager, C.V.T

Hello and Welcome! I am American Veterinary Hospital’s Practice Manger and Lead Certified Veterinary Technician. Starting in the field in 1998, I obtained my license as a C.V.T. and began taking on different aspects of the practice. Since, I have made many long-lasting relationships with our clients and consider it a privilege to be able to work with you and your pets from their first exam into their senior years. I look forward to welcoming new clients into our practice and getting to know their furry friends.

Carie

Office Manager, Media Manager

Hey there and Welcome! I joined the PAW-mazing team here at American Veterinary Hospital in 2018 and I know I found my forever home! With over 20 years of experience in the field I was able to quickly put my knowledge to great use and thrive with the team! As office manager I wear many hats in practice however my favorite is being able to build bonds with our clients and receive lots of love from our patients.

My background in marketing has given me to opportunity to also become AVH’s Media Manager, allowing me to connect with our clients on a whole new level. Using the technology available today definitely creates a whole new experience for our pet owners and I love it!

When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my fiancée and being a mother to 4 amazing children. I am a totally sports mom (GO Clarke University Pride!) and love to craft. Our 4-legged family members consist of – Kola: a 4-year-old Pitbull – I recently adopted from Woof Gang Rescue/ Domo – a 9-year-old Miniature Pinscher/ Tweak – a 14 -year-old domestic shorthair/ Waka – a 1 year old Manie coon Mix and Tikki -a 7-month-old Sphynx.
It’s safe to say…We have a FULL house!

I look forward to growing the practice and building long lasting relationships with our clients!

Bri

Receptionist

Hiya! I’m a newer hire with American Veterinary Hospital but I do have a long history of both working and caring for animals under my belt! From a young age I’ve always known I wanted to not only work with but also give a helping hand when it came to animal lives and now, I get to live that dream every day! In my free time you can catch me with my lovely fiancée, Angel <3 and our fur babies; Dean a very wild but cute border collie/rat terrier mix and Athena, our shy chunky kitty. I can’t wait to see you around the practice!

Bella

Receptionist

Hi! I started at the practice in September of 2021 and am excited to be of part of such a welcoming team and growing with the practice! I have previous experience in dealing with small animals as well as our canine and feline friends. Pet health care is important to me, and it brings me joy to work with our patients and clients. My home is also full of furr! My companions currently consist of 3 tuxedo cats – Oliver, Arthur and Matlida as well as my 2 canine friends – Clovis and Chica! It makes for a crazy home but it’s all in a day’s work! I look forward to meeting more of our clients!

Sara

Lead Receptionist

Hey Everyone! I joined the amazing team at AVH back in March of 2021 and it feels like forever ago! The staff and clients definitely make settling in and being welcome extremely easy. I enjoy being at the front desk welcoming our clients and greeting our patients, however I have recently began cross training to become a veterinary assistant. When I’m not at work, my husband are busy assisting with rescue duties at Woof Gang Rescue and spending time with 2 home boys at home! Our four legged friends and continuous fosters keep us on our toes!

Ruth

Veterinary Assistant

Heyy!! I am excited to be a part of the American Veterinary Hospital team, working as the Vet Assistant! I am currently enrolled in school to obtain my Certified Veterinary Technician License and am eager to continue my education! It is such a privilege to work alongside such a wonderful team and getting to care for your cute furry friends! I have 2 cats; Papi and Rachel who I rescued with my boyfriend <3, as well as a Yorkie Terrier; Cookie, who is almost 11 years old! They motivate me every day to come and take care of other animals, like I do with them! I can’t wait to grow during my time here and develop loving relationships with our clients and their lovely pets!

Sanchez & Carlos

This is Sanchez and Carlos, when Dr. Chughtai rescued them in 2009 they were very sick, and were going to be euthanized. Dr. Chughtai stepped in and rescued them. Since being rescued from MADACC in 2009 they have been so spoiled! And they love their home here at American Veterinary Hospital, where there are no limits and they are welcome to roam free! Sanchez our black cat was diagnosed with Osteonecrosis in 2011 and unfortunately had to have his back right leg amputated. Luckily Dr. Chughtai caught it soon enough and only had to amputate one of his legs. But don’t let that fool you he gets along very well at the clinic and loves all the extra attention that he gets because of it! Carlos, our orange kitty we adopted also known as our greeter loves greeting all sorts of pets coming through our doors, and is very social with our clients. Somehow he knows when they need something to get their mind off of a vet visit because he jumps right into their lap and screams for attention. He’s truly our little therapist!
